Last week at The Road Called STRATE, we celebrated a simple but powerful moment — one of our participants picked up his tools, work gear, and safety equipment as he prepared to step into a new job. It wasn’t just about receiving a box of supplies; it was about breaking barriers and opening the door to opportunity.

More Than Training

At The Road Called STRATE, we believe preparation goes beyond resumes and interviews. That’s why our Job Readiness Program is designed to provide the wraparound support that many individuals need to thrive:

  • Work Tools – so participants can walk onto the jobsite fully equipped.

  • PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) – ensuring safety is never a barrier to opportunity.

  • Work Shoes & Clothing – helping participants look and feel confident on their first day.

  • Ongoing Support – guidance, mentorship, and community to stay on track.

These essentials may seem small to some, but for many, they are the bridge between uncertainty and stability.

Why It Matters

For people in our community, especially those overcoming challenges like unemployment, reentry, or housing insecurity, the cost of tools and gear can hold them back. By removing these financial obstacles, we’re helping individuals not just find jobs — but build sustainable careers.

Forever Forward

This is what our motto, “Forever Forward,” is all about. Every tool given, every pair of work boots provided, and every ounce of encouragement we share is another step forward for our participants — and for our community as a whole.

We are proud of the strides being made, and we invite you to continue supporting programs like this. Together, we can ensure that no one is left behind when it comes to preparing for work and life.
